With lots of help from the Burlington DPW, we installed the very first sculpture on Friday, July 24.
Peter Dellert worked with DPW to move the work from his trailer to the right concrete base. A flock of helpers tore off the coverings of bubble wrap.
Then Peter drilled holes into the concrete base and bolted the work in place.
He then spent the rest of the day priming and painting the inside of the steel work with glow-in-the-dark paint.
That feature was very popular with our student advisors and should prove a unique feature of the park.
Below is a video of DPW and Peter Dellert moving his 600 pound steel sculpture from truck to concrete base.
